Grand Mere State Park features over 1,000 acres of
beautiful undeveloped woods and sand dunes. It has 985 acres
of hiking trails, and over 1 mile of Lake Michigan beach for
sunbathing and swimming. Open to hunting and fishing, it also
boasts three geologically ancient lakes behind the dunes.
Weko Beach is just 3 minutes from downtown Bridgman, found by going west from the traffic light at Red Arrow Highway and Lake Street. It has a concession building with restrooms and changing rooms. This is one of Michigan's premier, wide, beautiful "ocean-like" beaches and features amazing sunsets, with a bugler playing "Taps" at sundown every evening from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
