The
Blossomtime Festival is one of the oldest multi-community
festivals in Michigan. It is held the first Saturday of May,
and 2010 will mark its 104th celebration. The Grand Floral
Parade now lasts some two hours and boasts of over 125 units
including floats, bands, clowns, costumed characters, antique
cars and tractors and much more.
Emerging downtown is the Arts
District, home to
Galleria del Corazon, studio of renown sculptor Richard
Hunt and the Water Street Glassworks, whose lead instructor,
Jerry Catania, learned glassblowing under Dale Chihuly.
